The beach has changing cabanas so that you don’t have to sit in your car with a wet bathing suit on. There is also a small café onsite that offers drinks and snacks so that you don’t need to travel far for a quick pick-me-up. There are also open grill stations and picnic tables that are available for use by visitors.
The beach also has a volleyball net available for those who wish to take part in a fun beach activity. You will also find lifeguards with a morning to late afternoon schedule, bathrooms, water fountains, bike racks, and even a gift shop!
Parking & Transportation
With Manatee Beach being one of the island’s top beaches you can expect a large parking lot in comparison to other Anna Maria Island parking. You do need to keep in mind that the beach has hours, and the parking lot will adhere to those hours. You will be able to park in the lot from sunrise until 10 p.m. most nights, unless otherwise posted. The best part of the parking is that it is free during normal business hours, and even on holidays.

The name of the beach, Manatee Beach, might be slightly misleading. These majestic creatures are often found in the bays and shallow waters that are around the island, not necessarily the beach. You might not find any manatees while you are at the beach, especially with them being shy, but you will be sure to see plenty of shorebirds.
