Anna Maria Island is home to several exciting shopping districts where you can easily spend a day or two looking for great souvenirs, clothing, decorations, jewelry and other unique items to bring home as gifts to friends and family.

These are some of the top areas to shop while you’re on the island, where you’ll also find a plethora of restaurants for dining and stunning beaches right next to you to unwind at.

Historic Green Village (City of Anna Maria)

The Historic Green Village shopping area has a fascinating story behind its recent relaunch. A vacationing couple from Britain fell in love with the area and sold their business in order to develop real estate in the historic area, which is located on the eastern end of Pine St. in the City of Anna Maria.

They re-developed the several buildings with the latest green technology while preserving the 100-year old village’s historic integrity. It is now known for its incredible commitment to sustainable energy, water conservation and recycling. There you’ll find several local stores where you can purchase outdoor clothing, equipment for ocean sports, equipment rentals, and even groceries.

While you’re in the village, be sure to visit the J. Lazzara Gallery on Pine if you have any interest at all in local art, as they offer an interesting array of artworks produced by local artists for purchase including jewelry, sculptures, paintings, wearable art, blown glass, and other collectibles.

Pine Ave. (City of Anna Maria)

The rest of Pine Avenue in the City of Anna Maria is home to other intriguing boutiques and stores that you can easily shop at after you’ve explored the unique Green Village area. Once you get off the free trolley or find parking the area is very walkable.

On Pine Avenue, you’ll find other equipment rental and outdoor gear stores, gift and clothing shops, jewelry and souvenir stores, and art galleries showcasing local art. It’s easy to spend a day in this area window shopping and exploring. And, whenever you’re craving a meal you’ll also find plenty of restaurants in the Pine Street area including pizza and Italian restaurants, Mexican cuisine, pub grub, and seafood.

One thing you’ll notice about the locally owned stores on Pine Street is that the service is always incredible friendly, warm and hospitable, and you’re sure to find the perfect set of gifts and souvenirs that will remind you of your time on the island.

Holmes Beach Shopping

Holmes Beach offers plenty of additional stores to see, and many of them are located around the intersection of Gulf Dr./Marina Dr. Several of the island’s ocean sports equipment rental stores are located here including bicycle and kayak rentals, as well as gift shops, clothing stores, delis and grocery stores, swimwear stores, furniture rentals and more. Manatee Public Beach which is a short distance away, and there are plenty of free trolley stops nearby.

Bridge Street

The Historic Bridge Street area in Bradenton Beach was recently revitalized with new construction and redevelopment and has become a popular shopping and dining hub on the island. The stores on Bridge Street are also conveniently located within walking distance of the free trolley.

Throughout Bridge Street you’ll find unique souvenirs, art, furniture, tropical décor, arts and crafts, handmade items, beach gear, clothing and much more. It’s certainly worth shopping in this area if you’re looking for a gift, décor item, or handmade treasure that you won’t be able to find elsewhere. You’ll also have several other attractions nearby to fill your schedule including the Historic Bridge Street Pier and Coquina Beach.
